I conducted an interview with Chris, who was excited to tell me about a partnership his group had forged with Humanize Austin. In addition to creating support bags filled with socks and toiletries, Chris's group secured financial donations and a bike they will be able to give to a person in need.
Chris and his peers knew they wanted to do something to reach out to unhoused Austinites to let people know they are seen, acknowledged, and important. To help students empathize with the issue and to gather stories of stakeholders impacting and impacted by the topic, part of the TGPLAN process is to interview an expert in the field who is considered a leader, visionary, or pot-stirrer, OR students can interview other stakeholders impacted by the issue. Cris reflected on the power of the interview in forming a partnership with Humanize Austin, and he realized he wanted his podcast to have far-reaching impact in order to spread his story about what he had learned.
